Happy 4th of July! I cannot believe I am celebrating America’s birth in New York City. It feels so surreal. However, I do miss the good ole’ days when my family spent the day together. I slept in until 9:30 a.m. and then Jessica, Jordan and I went to Grand Central Station. We walked through the entire station, looking at all of the shops. We also had lunch inside the station and people watched. The most amazing part of the station was the whispering gallery. Jordan and I were so excited when we could actually hear each other on the other side of the corridor. At first, we did not think it worked, but it did! It was sweet! After, we came back to the room and relaxed for a little while. It is seriously too hot outside to do any exploring. Almost every restaurant in Manhattan was booked, so we ended up going to Park Plaza Diner in Brooklyn Heights around 6:30 p.m. Although the restaurant consisted of mostly old people, it had really good food. I had a California Wrap with salmon, avocado and spinach. After dinner, we walked to the Brooklyn Bridge Main Park to watch the fireworks. We sat on the grass and hung out until the fireworks started around 9:30 p.m. The fireworks went off behind the Manhattan buildings, but we were still able to see them. It was a fun experience! The park was packed with young adults, families and kids playing. It was a fun place to celebrate the 4th of July. God Bless the USA!
